A short blog about our first World Bicycle Day – Sunday 3 June 2018.

Bike SA wanted to celebrate this fantastic occasion with our members and friends and such we decided to host a Free community ride.

The Bike SA team arrived at a very crisp Victoria Park to set up for the inaugural World Bicycle day celebration. It was beautiful day despite a chill in the air but perfect to celebrate cycling in South Australia, with the diverse community of riders who stated to arrive in a steady stream. The local cafes kept riders warm with drinks and breakfast snacks.

It was wonderful to see trikes, cruisers, trishaws, E-Bikes, tandems, kids, dogs, families, ride groups and even a skeleton out for the celebration.

Everyone gathered around to listen to our speakers address the community,

We were lucky enough to have the HON Lord Mayor, Martin Haese, Katrine Hildyard MP – Shadow Minister for Sport and Racing, Michaels Bails – President Cycling SA And Nathan Petrus – Vice President, Bike SA to address our community see Lord Mayors opening remarks here.
